How to Eliminate Odor from your Pipes

The pipes in our home, whether in the bathroom or the kitchen, can sometimes start to give off an odor. With this simple trick you can eliminate bad odors without spending too much.

Odors in the pipes are caused by various factors that, for the most part, are hard to avoid. Some detergents and soaps leave residue in the pipes over time, and sometimes food begins to decompose inside pipes.

Noticing an odor in your pipes doesn’t mean your house is not clean. Taking a few simple steps can help solve the issue.

Ingredients:

  • ⅔ cup of baking soda
  • ¾ cup of white vinegar
  • 2 cups of hot water

Process:

1. Boil the water on the stove.

2. When the water is about to boil, add the white vinegar and bring to a boil.

3. While the vinegar with the water boils, slowly pour the baking soda into the pipe.

4. When the mixture is done boiling,  slowly pour it into the pipe behind the baking soda. It is important not to use this pipe for at least the next 2 hours, or if possible let it act overnight.
